Alan Levin is currently serving as Senior Advisor to Delaware’s leading food service provider, SoDel Concepts. This come after his selection by Delaware Governor Jack Markell to serve in his cabinet as the Director of the Delaware Economic Development Office, DEDO. His service came during the worst recession of recent history and the state’s unemployment reached a high of 8.9% by 2010. As a result of his leadership, by the end of his service in June of 2015, Delaware was leading the region in job growth and unemployment stood at 4.5%. Before joining Governor Markell, Levin served as President and CEO of Happy Harry’s, the tenth largest drugstore chain in the United States, before it’s merger with the Walgreen Company in July 2006. During his tenure he grew the company from 16 to 76 stores, 2700 employees, and revenues increased from $66 million to nearly half-a billion.
